A mushroom gravy with a bit of cream for body.
Saute mushrooms in butter until cooked.
Add garlic and cook until fragrant. (30 sec)
Add beef stock and/or pan drippings. This can be beef, chicken or vegetable depending on your meal.
Reduce liquid to about 50%.
Add salt & pepper to taste.
Mix cornstarch with small amount of water. Slowly add to hot liquid while stirring constantly. Bring to light simmer.
Add heavy cream to your specific taste, and warm gravy. Do not boil.
